Advice for PhD students
Since finishing my PhD, I’ve thought about what advice I’d give to a grad student just starting out. I had an unreasonably enjoyable PhD, thanks to wonderful advisors and friends, plus lots of luck (and privilege). But I started out with much less of an idea of what I was doing. Here are some thoughts from the other side.

Science communication
I founded the group Communicating Science @ MIT and work with many other teaching and outreach organizations, including Art of Problem Solving, ComSciCon, the MIT Graduate Student Council, and the MIT Educational Studies Program. Here are various pieces I wrote for the MIT student newspaper, The Tech.

Other
Outside of research, some things I enjoy include singing opera, hiking, running, and birdwatching.
